Aurora Technologies Awarded "Best of Show" at
Internet Telephony ® Conference & Expo Miami 2003
CP-SFX8 Fabric Card Recognized for Innovation and Quality
BROCKTON, MA, February 26, 2003 - Aurora Technologies, Inc. today announced that it's CP-SFX8 Fabric Card has been named a "Best of Show" winner at Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC)'s INTERNET TELEPHONY ® Conference and Expo Miami 2003. The show is widely considered the industry's most respected event
focused on voice, video, facsimile, and data convergence.
Aurora's CP-SFX8 incorporates StarGen's SG1010 switch devices, allowing users to implement a centralized fabric topology in a CompactPCI chassis. The Fabric Card
allows users to design simple PICMG 2.17 solutions to connect to one or two chassis, or
large, complex redundant switch fabrics, with high availability and increased bandwidth
in telecommunications applications.
Available in a 6U design, the CP-SFX8 features eight links to a PICMG 2.17 compliant backplane and supports up to eight node cards within the chassis. The card also has two front panel links to connect to a second chassis for fully redundant, fault tolerance. The card's internal switch devices interconnect so node-to-node data encounters no more than two switch devices for low latency. Aurora's CP-SFX8 card provides a per port bandwidth of 5 Gbps and an aggregate bandwidth of 40 Gbps. The CP-SFX8 also features a PMC site that operates in monarch and non-monarch mode, and is
compatible with Microsoft ® Windows ® and Linux ® operating systems.
"Aurora is excited that our new CP-SFX8 Fabric Card has been recognized by the editors of Internet Telephony magazine for its power and flexibility," said Jessica Isquith, Vice President of Aurora Technologies, Inc. "The CP-SFX8 brings next-generation
switching to users' StarFabric-enabled CompactPCI hardware and software today."
"Aurora Technologies' innovative CP-SFX8 Fabric Card highlights why so many enterprise buyers, developers, and service providers are perennial attendees at
INTERNET TELEPHONY ® Conference & Expo," said TMC President and Conference
Co-Chairman, Rich Tehrani. "With their commitment to quality on display, show
attendees know they'll find solutions in the Aurora/Carlo Gavazzi booth that can help
them improve their businesses right away. It is that same commitment to excellence to
our selecting Aurora's CP-SFX8 Best of Show."
The Best of Show awards emphasize technological innovation and product reliability. Forward-looking products that will drive the development of next generation VoIP solutions also received recognition. Each award winner submitted a thorough
application and showcased their product on the INTERNET TELEPHONY ® Conference
& Expo show floor. A full list of the winners will appear in the April 2003 issue of Internet Telephony ® magazine.
