Aurora's New StarFabric Paper Outlines Seamless Migration to Advanced Switching Technologies

BROCKTON, MA, December 6, 2002 - Aurora Technologies, Inc. announces the availability of the Starting with StarFabric: The StarFabric Connectivity Guide, a primer designed to educate readers about the features and benefits of the new Switch Fabric technology.

As bandwidth demands and performance requirements continue to grow, current PCI technology will have difficulty supporting the anticipated levels of growth needed by next-generation server and enterprise networks. After reading Aurora's StarFabric Connectivity Guide, people will understand how connectivity technology has evolved over the years and why StarFabric has emerged as a leader in next-generation Switch Fabric connectivity. The guide compares StarFabric with other next-generation technologies and explains the benefits of migrating from legacy connectivity to StarFabric. The guide also describes Aurora Technologies StarFabric-based products and where they are best applied in various networking system applications.

"StarFabric is at the forefront of Switch Fabric technology," says Frank Fitzgerald, Director of Engineering at Aurora Technologies, Inc. "And The StarFabric Connectivity Guide will help people understand and evaluate various Switch Fabrics technologies in order to plan their migration from PCI to StarFabric and beyond."

StarFabric is a powerful switched interconnect technology with sophisticated features, such as advanced switching for complex connectivity between many devices, Quality of Service (QoS), high availability, and serviceability. StarFabric is fully compatible with existing PCI software and hardware while offering a seamless migration path to advanced switching technologies, such as PCI Express. StarFabric technology, originally created by StarGen, Inc., is an industry open architecture available through membership in the StarFabric Trade Association (http://www.starfabric.org) of which Aurora is a founding member.

Aurora's Starting with StarFabric: The StarFabric Connectivity Guide is free and available for download from Aurora's website at http://www.auroratech.com/guide_request/starfabricform.html.
